Pushkar is an ancient city located in Rajasthan’s Ajmer District. Pushkar is famous as King of pilgrim sites. There are numerous of temples in Pushkar that makes it a holy place for Hindus. Travelling to Pushkar is not a big deal it has good connectivity on the road as well as with railways.

1. Pushkar Lake

This is believed to be constructed in the 14th century. This temple is an example of architectural beauty being constructed from marbles and stones. This temple has a unique identification as married men are not allowed into this temple.
3. Pushkar Mela
Pushkar Mela or fair is a world famous fair that attracts tourists from all around the world. Pushkar Mela is celebrated during the month of November and is regarded as the festival time of India. Villagers from rural parts of Rajasthan arrive at this fair with their camels. The main attractions are that the thousands of camels dressed up beautifully and parading throughout the fair camp. Apart from this, there are several contests organized for camels that enthrall the visitors.

Among the ancient temples in Pushkar, Varaha Temple is one which is dedicated to Varaha-Boar which is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This was built in the 12th century. This temple was destroyed by then Mughal emperor Aurangzeb but was restored by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1727. This temple is a must visit place in Pushkar.
5. Savitri Temple
Savitri Temple is located the top of the Ratnagiri Hills. This temple was built in1687, and this is believed to be the place where Goddess Savitri had rested building the temple. This temple is the top point of where the entire view of Pushkar Lake and its beautiful surrounding.
6. Man Mahal

Man Mahal

Man Mahal is the royal palace located beside the Sarovar Lake. This is the largest place of residence in Pushkar. This palace was built by Raja Man Singh-I who was impressed by this location’s view. This palace incorporates traditional Rajasthani architect and even there is a touch of Mughal architect in its design.
